State Security Service on Tuesday warned the public to desist from engaging its disgraced former director-general, Mr Lawal Daura, on its behalf. FG protests as Ghana deports 723 Nigerians

Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr Michael Abikoye, has protested the inhuman treatment of Nigerians by Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) with the deportation of 723 Nigerians between 2018 and 2019. Abikoye said this at a meeting between him and the Comptroller-General of GIS, Mr Kwame Takyi, in Ghana. The High Commissioner said 723 Nigerians were deported on alleged illegal stay, cybercrime and prostitution between January 2018 and January 2019. Abducted Nigerian school girl, Leah Sharibu, on Tuesday marked one year in her kidnappers’ custody. Sharibu was abducted alongside 109 other girls from their secondary school in Dapchi, Yobe State, on February 19, 2018. INEC postpones today’s elections

Independent National Electoral Commission has decided to shift Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections till next week 23 February. Accident Investigation Bureau, AIB, yesterday, released preliminary report on the helicopter crash involving the Vice President, Mr Yemi Osinbajo and members of his team. Polytechnic lecturers suspend strike

Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has suspended its two-month-old strike, five days after its university colleagues halted theirs. Mr Usman Dutse, national president of ASUP, confirmed that the strike had been suspended. 15.2 million passengers travel through Nigeria’s airports in 2018 – FAAN

Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says a total of 15.2 million passengers passed through Nigerian airports in 227,834 aircraft movements in 2018. This was revealed in FAAN’s 2018 Annual Report released on Sunday. The report posted an increase of 2.5 million passengers from 12.7 million passengers recorded in 2017, representing 19.11 per cent increase. It also revealed an increase of 27,068 from the 200,766 aircraft movements recorded in 2017, representing 11.48 per cent increase. Ex-army chief, David Ejoor, is dead

A former Chief of Army Staff, Mr David Ejoor, is dead. Ejoor was army chief between 1971 and 1975 during the Yakubu Gowon military regime. Ejoor was Urhobo from Delta State. He was 87.
