Farmer removes house roof for sale to pay ransom for kidnapped son

A Katsina farmer, Saidu Faskari, has removed his house’s roofing sheet to sell as he gathers ransom money for the release of his kidnapped eldest son. Faskari local government is one of the frontline areas in the state for bandits’ attacks. Herdsmen invade Ondo community, kill 3, raze houses

No fewer than three persons were reportedly killed when gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen invaded Molege community in the Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State on Thursday. Migrating bandits massacre 200 as they move out of Zamfara

Over 200 persons are said to have been killed in Anka and Bukkuyum local government areas of Zamfara State by fleeing bandits. It was gathered that the bandits, fleeing as a result of ongoing military operations, were trying to leave the state with large number of animals when they attacked some villages in the two local government areas, killing over 200 people in the process. Gunmen bomb police station, free detainees in Imo

Gunmen on Thursday bombed the Ideato South Local Government Area Police Headquarters in Dikenafai, Imo State. They freed the detainees. The hoodlums, who came in large numbers, set part of the police station ablaze with explosive devices. Gunmen kill security guards at hydropower plant in Niger state, abduct Chinese expatriates

At least two security guards were confirmed killed on Tuesday as some gunmen abducted three Chinese nationals working at a hydropower plant in Zungeru in the Wushishi local government area of Niger State. Witnesses said the gunmen whisked away the expatriates who were working on a transmission line tower in Gussase village, after a firefight with security agents. Police spokesperson in Niger, Wasiu Abiodun, said a Chinese expatriate and a local staff were shot while three Chinese expatriates were declared missing after the gun duel. Bandits kill 9, rustle cattle, goats in fresh attacks on Kaduna communities

Bandits kill 7, abduct 18 in attacks on Kaduna communities

Gunmen kidnap ASUU chair, Plateau ex-gov aspirant

A former governorship aspirant in Plateau State during the 2019 elections, Kemi Nshe, has been kidnapped by gunmen. Bandits invade outskirts of Zamfara capital, Gusau, kill 7, abduct 33

Armed persons for several hours late Saturday attacked 15 communities in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, killing at least seven people. Residents said the attacks started from late on Saturday, Christmas Day, to the early hours of Sunday. Apart from the people killed, at least 33 women were kidnapped by the armed bandits, the residents told BBC Hausa.
