Gun battle as security men resist gunmen invasion of Jos prison

Gunmen attacked the correctional facility in Jos, Plateau state capital, on Sunday. The gunmen invaded the facility around 5pm but security operatives were able to repel the attack. DSS alerts security forces to planned attacks by terrorists on Ogun border towns, others

Department of State Services has put the Nigeria Customs Service on red alert over planned attacks by insurgents on Ogun border communities and other border communities across the country. The secret police said it has intelligence that the marauders intend to hatch their sinister plot on military bases in border towns. Bandits kill 5, abduct 90 in Niger state communities

Armed bandits laying siege to some villages in Zagzaga community in Munya Local Government Area of Niger State have prevented the people from evacuating the bodies of five vigilantes they killed in the area. Gunmen kill 11 persons in Plateau community

No fewer than 11 persons were reportedly killed on Friday night as Fulani herdsmen attack Ta’agbe village in Miango District of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. Bandits have reportedly chased residents out of Yan Buki village in Zurmi local government area of Zamfara State. A federal judge in Pennsylvania has sentenced a Nigerian man to more than seven years in prison for conspiring to launder approximately $1.89 million in mail and wire fraud proceeds in a scheme that targeted women. Niger state bans sale of motorcycles to fight banditry

Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger state has directed immediate ban on sales of some categories of motorcycles across the state.
