Gunmen bomb police station, free detainees in Imo

Gunmen on Thursday bombed the Ideato South Local Government Area Police Headquarters in Dikenafai, Imo State. They freed the detainees. The hoodlums, who came in large numbers, set part of the police station ablaze with explosive devices. The explosives destroyed the administrative office, the Divisional Police Officer’s office, and the reception desk. Gunmen kill security guards at hydropower plant in Niger state, abduct Chinese expatriates

At least two security guards were confirmed killed on Tuesday as some gunmen abducted three Chinese nationals working at a hydropower plant in Zungeru in the Wushishi local government area of Niger State. Witnesses said the gunmen whisked away the expatriates who were working on a transmission line tower in Gussase village, after a firefight with security agents. Police spokesperson in Niger, Wasiu Abiodun, said a Chinese expatriate and a local staff were shot while three Chinese expatriates were declared missing after the gun duel. Bandits kill 9, rustle cattle, goats in fresh attacks on Kaduna communities

No fewer than nine persons were yesterday killed by bandits across Igabi and Zaria local government areas of Kaduna State. Bandits kill 7, abduct 18 in attacks on Kaduna communities

No fewer than seven people have been confirmed killed in bandits’ attacks on four villages across Igabi, Chikun and Zangon-Kataf local government areas of Kaduna State, while 18 others have been reportedly kidnapped in Udawa along Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna Road. Gunmen kidnap ASUU chair, Plateau ex-gov aspirant

A former governorship aspirant in Plateau State during the 2019 elections, Kemi Nshe, has been kidnapped by gunmen. Nshe, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party who served as chairman of Shendam Local Government Area of the state at different times, was kidnapped alongside Monday Hassan, Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities at the Plateau State University, Bokkos. Six Nigerian, Niger troops killed by ISWAP in Borno

Bandits invade outskirts of Zamfara capital, Gusau, kill 7, abduct 33

Armed persons for several hours late Saturday attacked 15 communities in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, killing at least seven people. Residents said the attacks started from late on Saturday, Christmas Day, to the early hours of Sunday.
