Gunmen waylay convoy of vehicles escorted by policemen, abduct 70 travellers

More than 70 travellers have been reportedly abducted along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road in Kaduna State. According to Channels Television, the incident occurred around Udawa village after Buruku in Chikun Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday. A witness account said the vehicles conveying the travellers, mainly traders, were attacked by gunmen suspected to be bandits in their large number. While witnesses said the travellers, who were later taken into the forest were more than 70, the state police command said 48 were later rescued. Land grabbers attack OAU VC, other senior officials in Ile-Ife

Some youths suspected to be thugs on Monday laid siege to some parts of Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife and attacked the Vice-Chancellor, Eyitope Ogunbodede, and other management team members of the university. Gunmen abduct two clerics in Ogun

A gang of kidnappers has abducted two Islamic clerics after taking time to eat at their residence at Ayetoro in the Yewa-North Local Government Area of Ogun State. 38 killed in coordinated bandit attacks on Kaduna villages

Thirty eight (38) persons have been killed in an attack by bandits on several villages in Giwa LGA of Kaduna state. In a statement on Sunday, Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna commissioner for internal security and home affairs, said the attacks were reported to the state government by the military and police authorities. Gunmen kill two policemen at checkpoint in Anambra

Bandits abduct 20 in separate attacks on Sokoto communities

No fewer than 20 villagers have been abducted by bandits in Wurno local government area of Sokoto State, residents have said. Gunmen abduct two Imo monarchs, burn their palaces, vehicles

Bandits kill pastor in Kaduna after collecting ransom

Dauda Bature, a pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Nariya, Igabi LGA of Kaduna state, has been killed by bandits. Bature was abducted on his farm on November 8.
