Two police orderlies killed as gunmen attack Enugu commissioner

There was disquiet in Enugu on Monday as the State Commissioner for Lands, Chidi Aroh, escaped death by the whiskers as gunmen attacked him and killed two police orderlies. The incident happened on Sunday evening when Aroh was returning from the neighbouring Anambra State, where he was said to have attended a meeting on Saturday. Although the Anambra State Police Command confirmed the incident, it, however, said the whereabouts of the policemen were yet to be known. Abba Kyari sues FG, asks court to grant him bail from NDLEA custody on health grounds

Attempts by the detained Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Abba Kyari, to regain his freedom from the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on health grounds has failed before the Abuja division of the Federal High Court. The suspended Commander of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) and four others are currently in the custody of the anti-narcotics agency over their alleged involvement in drug trafficking. Bandits kill 18 in fresh attack on Zamfara village

At least, 18 people have been confirmed dead and several others injured after an attack by bandits in Kadaddaba in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The attack, which lasted from 10 p.m. on Friday to 4 a.m. on Saturday, was the first recorded in the village. Bandits abduct wives, 4 daughters of Kaduna community leader

Bandits have raided the residence of Sarkin Hausawa of Anguwar Azara in Jere, along Abuja-Kaduna highway, Ibrahim Tanko, abducting his wives alongside his four daughters. Abia State Government has confirmed the killing of eight persons by gunmen at new Cattle Market in Omuma-Uzo in Ukwa West Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday. Terrorists impose N40.7m ‘protection levy’ on Zamfara communities

Six months after sacking a military base in the area, bandits have collected at least N40.7 million as protection levy from residents of Mutumji communities in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Gunmen kill three police officers in Ebonyi

Gunmen have reportedly killed three police officers in Ebonyi State, Nigeria’s Southeast. The officers were gunned down on Monday night in front of a police station along the Enugu-Abakaliki highway, a source said. Abba Kyari, the suspended deputy commissioner of police (DCP), has been transferred to the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA).
