Armed persons Monday evening attacked a Kaduna-bound train carrying hundreds of passengers. The train, which left Abuja at about 6 p.m., was attacked between Katari and Rijana. Kaduna State Government confirmed the attack but said it was successfully repelled. One of the passengers aboard the train, Anas Iro-Danmusa, took to Facebook to solicit for prayers for those in the train. Bandits attacked communities in Munya Local Government Area of Niger State, last weekend, forcing resident to flee. No fewer than six communities were reportedly affected in the attack that started on Saturday evening and continued up till Sunday evening. The attack came a week after Governor Sani Bello assured Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of security to enable them return to their communities. Gunmen killed one person during an airport attack in the northern Nigerian state of Kaduna on Saturday afternoon, three sources working at the airport said, the latest in a series of attacks by gunmen in the north of the country. A ground crew and two airport officials said armed men entered the airport premises through a perimeter fence from a nearby forest and started shooting sporadically to scare workers. Kaduna State Government has said no fewer than 34 persons, including two soldiers, were killed in the Sunday night attack on Agban Kagoro in Kaura Local Government Area of the state by bandits. The state Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed the incident on Tuesday, said four locations of Tsonje, Agban, Katanga and Kadarko, all within the Kagoro Chiefdom were attacked on Sunday night.
