Suspected gunmen at the early hours of yesterday in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State killed two policemen and a Chinese expatriate. The policemen were posted to escort the expatriate, who were working in Ukum, when they were waylaid by the gunmen, who opened fire on them. No fewer than nine persons were killed by bandits while an unspecified number were abducted along Kaduna-Kachia road in Kaduna State by bandits. The attack was said to have taken place at about 10:30pm on Monday, near Kasuwan Magani, in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Gunmen kidnap family of five in Ondo

A family of five has been abducted by gunmen in Ajowa Akoko, a community in Akoko north-west LGA of Ondo state. Ibrahim Olusa, a native of Daja Ajowa, his wife, and three children were kidnapped at gunpoint on Monday. The abduction took place on Ajowa/Ayere highway. They were said to be returning to Abuja after spending the Easter holiday in Ajowa Akoko. The incident has heightened tension among the residents of the town. Two Chinese expatriates have been abducted at a mining site in Osun state. The expatriates, Zhao Juan (33) and One Wen (50) were abducted at a mining site located Okepa/Itikan village in Ifewara, Atakumosa-West local government area of the state on Monday. The gunmen invaded the site and engaged local guards in a gun duel. Two of the guards were shot in the process. Gunmen kill 7 Northern traders in Imo

There is palpable tension in Imo State following the murder of seven traders of northern extraction. Bandits kill five in Kaduna community

No fewer than five people were killed by bandits following an attack on Katarma village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan disclosed this in a statement issued yesterday in Kaduna.
