Armed bandits again struck at Orsu community in Imo State on Thursday where they bombed the Orsu Divisional Police Station and killed a police inspector. Bolanle Ibrahim, an assistant pastor of the King of kings parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ketu, Lagos state, has been shot dead. The pastor was said to have been killed at the church premises located at Maidan area in Ikosi Ketu, Lagos state. Kidnappers are demanding a ransom of one million naira each to release around 80 children snatched from a boarding school in Kaduna state last month, according to a pastor involved in the negotiations for their release. Suspected armed herdsmen invaded Mgbuji community in Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State and killed eight people, injured others and kidnapped many, while farmlands were also destroyed. At least two people were killed when hoodlums blocked Gada-Biyu Highway in Jos, Plateau State capital, Tuesday night. Eighteen people, including a police officer, have been reportedly killed in attacks by bandits on five communities in Chawai chiefdom, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Abba Kyari suspended over FBI indictment

Police Service Commission (PSC) has suspended Abba Kyari, deputy commissioner of police, following US court documents linking him to Ramon Abbas, self-confessed international fraudster better known as Hushpuppi. Usman Alkali, inspector-general of police (IGP), had recommended suspension of Kyari to allow for an independent investigation of the allegations against the officer.
