Gunmen yesterday besieged Nasarawa State Ministry of Finance, Budget and Planning in Lafia and catered away N100 million at gunpoint. Robbers numbering about 15 on Thursday attacked a bullion van conveying cash to Akure, the state capital. The attack happened in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area. It was however gathered the robbers failed in the operation as combined security operatives thwarted the move. A Nigerian local police chief and six bandits were shot dead during a clash in southeastern Imo State, police said on Tuesday, the latest incident in a multi-faceted insecurity crisis engulfing Africa’s most populous nation. 7 naval officers kidnapped In Edo

Seven officers of the Nigerian Navy have been abducted in Edo State. The security personnel were abducted while travelling to Delta from Kaduna. It was gathered that five of the Naval officers have been rescued by the police. Two soldiers, a corporal and a private soldiers, were kidnapped Saturday evening by Boko Haram terrorists. Suspected Fulani herdsmen on Monday attacked Obie-Aku, Opanda village, Nimbo community, in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, killing four people and injuring many others.
