A Nigerian police chief has denied involvement in what a U.S. indictment describes as an elaborate scheme to defraud a Qatari businessperson of more than $1 million, masterminded by a celebrity fraudster known as “Hushpuppi”. Abba Kyari, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, who has received multiple honours, was one of six people indicted over the alleged scheme, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Central District of California. Gunmen invade Nasarawa Ministry of Finance, cart away N100m

Gunmen yesterday besieged Nasarawa State Ministry of Finance, Budget and Planning in Lafia and catered away N100 million at gunpoint. Robbers attack bullion van, police escorts in Ondo

Robbers numbering about 15 on Thursday attacked a bullion van conveying cash to Akure, the state capital. The attack happened in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area. It was however gathered the robbers failed in the operation as combined security operatives thwarted the move. Bandits detain man who took N30m ransom to them for abducted Niger state pupils

Bandits, who abducted 138 pupils of Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School, Tegina, in May in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger state, have seized a man sent to deliver N30 million as another installment of the ransom they demanded from the parents.
