A Nigerian local police chief and six bandits were shot dead during a clash in southeastern Imo State, police said on Tuesday, the latest incident in a multi-faceted insecurity crisis engulfing Africa’s most populous nation. Seven officers of the Nigerian Navy have been abducted in Edo State. The security personnel were abducted while travelling to Delta from Kaduna. It was gathered that five of the Naval officers have been rescued by the police. Suspected Fulani herdsmen on Monday attacked Obie-Aku, Opanda village, Nimbo community, in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, killing four people and injuring many others.
