Mugabe can no longer walk, says Zimbabwean president

Zimbabwe’s ex-leader Robert Mugabe is in Singapore for medical care and now unable to walk because of ill health and old age, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said on Saturday. How Boko Haram killed ‘over 70 soldiers’ in latest attack – Survivor

A Nigerian soldier who survived the deadly attack on a military base in northern part of Borno State on Monday said they suffered a heavy casualty due to lack of adequate weapons. The soldier, who managed to escape the attack alongside other injured troops, said at least 70 soldiers died in the attack. He said corpses of the slain Nigerian soldiers are yet to be evacuated, days after Boko Haram took advantage of their lack of munitions, and dealt them a devastating defeat. Senate adjourns plenary to honour fallen soldiers

Senate Thursday suspended legislative activities for the day to honour fallen soldiers. The adjournment was sequel to a point of order raised by deputy senate leader, Mr Bala Na’Allah. Prior to the call, Na’Allah said his cousin, a lieutenant colonel, Mr Sakaba, was one of the soldiers who died in the recent attack by Boko Haram in Maiduguri. He said the colonel was the commander of the team that was attacked.
