Buhari cancelled visit to Daura, not casual leave - Presidency

Presidency has reacted to media reports that President Muhammadu Buhari cancelled a planned casual leave to Daura, his hometown, explaining that what was cancelled was a private visit. The News Agency of Nigeria, a federal government-owned newswire, had on Tuesday reported that Mr Buhari cancelled a planned 5-day casual leave as a mark of respect for victims of Boko Haram attacks across battlefields in Northeast zone of the country. Nigeria to achieve 1.1m bpd refining capacity by 2020 - FG

Nigeria’s refinery capacity will reach 1.1 million barrels per day in 2020, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr Ibe Kachikwu said yesterday. Akwa Ibom names airport after ex-Gov

Akwa Ibom state government has named Ibom International Airport after Mr Victor Attah, second civilian governor of the state. Boko Haram: Soldiers death toll rises to 118; over 150 missing

At least 118 soldiers were killed in the pre-dusk attack on 157 Task Force Battalion in Borno State on November 18, multiple sources have confirmed. Based on accounts of top military officers, 153 soldiers are still missing in action as of November 24, nearly a week after the attack. Soldiers fighting Boko Haram in video, lament obsolete weapons, corruption
