Aregbesola advocates restructuring of Police Force

Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun, has called for the decentralisation of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) through proper restructuring and reform. The governor made the call on Sunday in Osogbo when a Deputy Inspector- General of Police, Mr Foluso Adebanjo paid him a courtesy visit. He said decentralisation of the force would ensure effective zonal security management, control and operation. FRSC redeploys 71 senior officers

Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi, has approved the redeployment of 71 senior officers nationwide for enhanced performance. The redeployment, aimed at repositioning the commission, affected three zonal commanding officers alongside several sector commanders. The prime minister has said "it is time to say enough is enough" as she condemned a terror attack on "innocent and unarmed civilians" which left seven people dead and 48 injured in London. Kogi doctors back on strike

Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Kogi has directed its members to resume a strike they suspended two weeks ago. The association said in a statement after an emergency congress in Lokoja on Saturday that the resumption of the strike was informed by government’s alleged failure to fulfill its promises to meet their demands. University of Ilorin had the highest number of admission applications for any university in Nigeria between 2012 and 2016, admission statistics from Joint Admission and Matriculation Board show. US to ask visa applicants for social media history

The Trump administration has approved plans to ask US visa applicants for details of their social media use. Consular officials can now ask for social media usernames going back five years via a new questionnaire. It also allows authorities to request email addresses, phone numbers and 15 years of biographical information.
