Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday secured the conviction of a former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State, Magaji Garba. Nigeria Police Force (NPF) says Usman Baba, the inspector-general of police (IGP), was “not aware” of a previous court order on the reinstatement of a former police officer. No fewer than six persons have been killed in Awka, Anambra State capital by suspected gunmen. The incident took place early hours of Saturday, along the popular Zik Avenue and its environs. More than 100 people, including women and children were abducted when gunmen raided four villages in Zamfara state on Sunday, the information commissioner and residents said on Monday. Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) says two medical doctors have been abducted by gunmen in Cross River. According to NAN, Felix Archibong, state’s chairman of NMA, confirmed the development on Saturday in Calabar, the Cross River capital.
