NNPC says vessel intercepted offshore with stolen oil to be summarily destroyed

Nigeria's state-owned oil firm NNPC Ltd said on Monday an 800,000-litre (211,338-U.S. gallon) vessel carrying stolen crude had been intercepted offshore while heading to Cameroon and would be destroyed as a deterrent to oil theft. Crude theft from pipelines and wells in the Niger Delta has hobbled the country's output in recent years and is one of the biggest challenges to confront new President Bola Tinubu. Lagos airport newly reinstalled runway lights stolen

Unknown persons have carted away the recently reinstalled airfield lighting systems at the domestic runway 18/36L of Murtala Muhammad Airport. Disappearance of the approach lighting systems had raised security concerns in Nigeria’s busiest airports. Gunmen kill 8 in fresh attack on Plateau community

No fewer than eight persons, including an eight-month-old baby, have been killed in Farin Lamba community of Vwang District of Jos South Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State. Three miners were shot dead on Friday at a mining site around Tanjol in Jol community of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. Death toll in Plateau attacks rises to 29

Death toll, following Monday’s attack by gunmen on residents of Riyom and Barkin Ladi Local Councils of Plateau State has risen to 29. Terrorists kill 50 farmers in renewed attacks on Niger state communities

At least 50 farmers have been reportedly killed by bandits in various communities in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, while several others have fled their homes.
