Fraudsters stole N9.5bn via banks’ e-channels between January and July 2023 - CBN

Director of Payment Systems Management of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Musa Jimoh, who doubles as the Chairman of Nigeria Electronic Fraud Forum (NeFF), yesterday disclosed that accumulated Electronic Fraud (E-Fraud) within the banking sector and payment systems network has led to a loss of N9.5 billion so far in 2023. Killings by terrorists, criminal gangs took lives of 5,166 Nigerians between January and July 2023 - Report

No fewer than 5,166 Nigerians were killed while there were 1,830 cases of abduction across the country between January and July this year. This is according to a 2023 Nigeria Security Report by Beacon Consulting, an Abuja-based security risk management and intelligence consulting company. FG files corruption charges against Emefiele

Federal government prosecutors filed a 20-count indictment against suspended and detained Central Bank of Nigeria governor Godwin Emefiele on Tuesday, one of them accusing him of "conferring unlawful advantages", a government lawyer said. DSS files charges against Emefiele after court order

Department of Security Services (DSS) says it has charged Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to court. A federal capital territory high court had ordered the DSS to charge Emefiele to court if they have criminal allegations against him.
