Terrorists kill five in Plateau community

Despite the curfew imposed by Plateau State Government to curb insecurity in the Mangu Local Government Area, gunmen, on Monday, killed five persons during an attack on the Sohon Kerang community in the the local government area. It was gathered that the suspects, after perpetrating the crime between 5pm and 8pm, fled into the bush. Gunmen operating in the Imo axis of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway reportedly kidnapped nine Enugu-bound passengers, killed two and robbed others of their valuables. Gunmen kill 3 miners in Plateau

Three miners were shot dead on Friday at a mining site around Tanjol in Jol community of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. National Publicity Secretary of Berom Youth Movement (BYM), Rwang Tengwong, confirmed the incident to our correspondent yesterday, adding that other miners and farmers around have fled the area. Suspected terrorists who attacked Chisu village in Mangu Local Government of Plateau State, on Tuesday night, burnt 11 persons to death. The victims were said to have run to a house in the village for safety after they heard sporadic gunshots in the community around 11 pm but the assailants pursued them to the place and set the house on fire leading to their death. Death toll in Plateau attacks rises to 29

Death toll, following Monday’s attack by gunmen on residents of Riyom and Barkin Ladi Local Councils of Plateau State has risen to 29. As of Monday, the Berom Youth Movement Volunteers (BYM) had recorded 21 fatalities. At least 50 farmers have been reportedly killed by bandits in various communities in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, while several others have fled their homes.
