Boko Haram ambushes travelers on Borno highway, abducts 35

At least 35 travellers were abducted Friday evening by gunmen who ambushed commuters along the Maiduguri-Damaturu Highway, witnesses and security sources have said. The abductions, the latest in a series of attacks on travellers on the key highway, followed an earlier assault on Friday, according to witnesses. Boko Haram suicide bomber kills 3 in Borno

A suicide bomber suspected to be Boko Haram has detonated explosives in Borno’s central town, killing no fewer than three persons. The bomber sneaked into Konduga, a town some 35 kilometres to Maiduguri, the state capital on Friday and blew himself up. Three people were killed in the attack and seven people injured, local sources said. Neither the police nor the military have released any official reaction on the attack, the first in about nine months in the area. Gunmen attack Zamfara Emir’s convoy, kill eight

Gunmen on Friday attacked the convoy of Emir of Kaura Namoda in Zamfara State, killing eight guards, including police officers. Gunmen kill 7, burn houses in Southern Kaduna

Security agencies on internal security operations in parts of southern Kaduna State have confirmed that Gora Gan community in Zangon Kataf local government came under attack by gunmen on Thursday night, killing seven persons. Court of Appeal in Abuja has voided the February 25, 2020 judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja which convicted former spokesman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh and his firm, Destra Investment Ltd and sentenced them to seven years imprisonment for money laundering offences. Gunmen have kidnapped at least 19 persons in Ogu and Tegina communities in Niger state. Boko Haram kills 50 Nigerians who escaped to Niger Republic

As many as 50 Nigerian refugees living in Nigerien town of Tumuk are feared killed after an attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents. The attack reportedly took place on Sunday during which residents were shot mostly at close range and houses torched. Most of the inhabitants of the town were Nigerians from Abadam Local Government Area of Borno state in who fled to neighboring Niger. There were over 40,000 Nigerians in the town. Two foreign nationals kidnapped in Ibadan

Oyo State Police Command yesterday confirmed the kidnap of two foreigners in Ibadan, the state capital. It was gathered that the two foreigners, who are Indians, were kidnapped last Wednesday. They were kidnapped around 4:00 p.m. at a pharmaceutical firm near Toll Gate on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Maina extradited from Niger Republic

Abdulrasheed Maina, former Chairman of Pension Reform Task Team has arrived in Nigeria, after his extradition from the Niger Republic. He was arrested on November 30 after being declared wanted. His extradition was a collaborative work between Nigerian police and Interpol in Abuja and their Nigerien counterpart.
