Chairman of Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of Taraba state, Salihu Dovo, has been killed by gunmen who kidnapped him early Sunday morning, local residents have said. A popular Ibadan socialite, Teslim Ajao was on Saturday evening killed by gunmen at an hotel in NTC area, Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State. Some bandits in separate attacks reportedly killed six persons in two local government areas of Kaduna State. The local government areas are Chikun and Giwa. Some suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly shot a woman, Morenikeji Salami, while going to her site on the Oru-Awa Road in the Ijebu-North Local Government Area of Ogun State. The woman’s injuries were captured in a video that went viral on Saturday. Seven vigilantes in Mashegu council area of Niger State have been killed in an ambush by armed bandits. The incident occurred on Monday when the vigilantes were planning to attack the bandits. It was learnt that informants told the bandits of the vigilantes’ meeting. A source in the community said the bandits rounded up the vigilantes and opened fire, killing seven of them on the spot and injuring others.
