Police appoint new Force Secretary

Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Ibrahim Idris has appointed Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Mr Frederick Lakanu as the new Force Secretary and member of Nigeria Police Force Management Team. A statement yesterday from Police spokesman, Mr Jimoh Moshood said the appointment takes immediate effect. Strike action: FG, ASUU reach agreement

Federal government has reached an agreement with striking university lecturers, raising the possibility of ending the teachers’ prolonged industrial action. National president of Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU), Mr Biodun Ogunyemi, said National Executive Committee of the union will review its decisions based on the new commitment by the federal government.
