Nigeria signs AU’s cross border convention

Nigeria on Sunday in Addis Ababa signed the African Union Convention on Cross Border Corporation geared at peaceful resolution of border disputes. It was signed on the side line at the on-going 28th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa. The Niamey Convention, which was adopted in 2014, is to promote Cross Border Cooperation at local, sub-regional and regional levels. It is aimed at ensuring peaceful resolution of border disputes. Railway workers express fear of job loss with GE concession

Nigeria Union of Railway Workers has expressed fear that the planned concession of the railway system by the Federal Government could lead to loss of jobs of no fewer than 15,000 of its members. Poor service: NCC vows stiffer sanctions against GSM operators

Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has warned telecommunication providers in the country to improve the quality of their networks and stop extorting Nigerian consumers. Fire outbreak at NNPC depot

Niger State Fire Service has confirmed an early morning fire outbreak at the NNPC depot in Suleja. Mr Mohammad Kwale, the officer in charge of the service in Suleja, said that the outbreak affected the loading section in the depot. ”The outbreak started around 4:30 a.m. when we were called. Boko Haram attacks convoy on Maiduguri highway, 7 killed

Gunmen believed to be Nigeria's Boko Haram Islamic extremists attacked a convoy of motorists along a recently secured highway, killing at least seven people and injuring many others, including soldiers in a military escort, witnesses said.
