Christopher Howell was less than halfway into a four-year sentence at Lake Correctional Institution, a men’s prison near Orlando, when he died. Bandits have shot three persons dead at Maikwama village in Dandume Council of Katsina State. The bandits also stole food items and rustled a number of bulls used by farmers for tilling the farmlands. It was gathered that the incident occurred about 2 a.m. yesterday during heavy rainfall in the area. Armed men on Saturday killed at least ten people when they attacked Ruwan-Tofa community in Dansadau district of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, residents have said. Maru is the same local government, alongside Talata Marafa, attacked by the armed men on June 2 and 3, during which 21 people were killed. The latest attack was confirmed by the police in Zamfara. Bandits have allegedly killed seven persons in another round of attacks in Kasai and Nahuta villages in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
