Gunmen attack Southern Kaduna villages, kill 21

Gunmen killed 21 people in night attacks on four Kaduna State villages, Police confirmed on Thursday. An unspecified number of houses were burnt by the marauders, including one belonging to a dead colonel. Police spokesman, Mr Muhammad Jalige said three people were injured. The attacks were followed by the killings that have been going on in the southern part of the state. Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) however disagreed with the police on the figure of the dead and on the number of villages attacked. Oyo approves take-off funds for Operation Amotekun

Oyo State Government has approved N59.7m as take-off grants for the State Security Network Agency, codenamed ‘Operation Amotekun’. This was disclosed after the state’s 19th virtual executive meeting, where the executive council approved fund for the procurement of 3,000 units of uniforms, combat boots, lanyard, baseball hats, security belts and worsted socks. Boko Haram militants attack IDPs, kill 15 in northern Cameroon

Suspected militants from Islamist group Boko Haram killed 15 people and wounded six others in a grenade attack on a camp for displaced people in northern Cameroon on Sunday, a security source and a local official told Reuters. A light aircraft overloaded with cocaine crashed on take-off on its way to Australia, police said on Saturday, exposing a Melbourne-based crime syndicate and leading to the arrest of five men with alleged links to the Italian mafia. Armed robbers attack bullion van, kill four police officers in Ebonyi

Gunmen, on Wednesday, attacked a bullion van in Ebonyi State, killing four police officers escorting the vehicle. The gunmen, it was gathered, tried unsuccessfully to intercept the bullion van at Ezzamgbo junction, in Ohaukwu Local Government Area. The van was transporting money from Enugu to Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital. Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Friday night attacked three communities in Jema’a and Kaura Local Government Areas of Southern Kaduna area of Kaduna State and killed at least nine persons. Gunmen ambush Correctional Service convoy, free six suspects

Armed men on Thursday ambushed officials of Nigerian Correctional Service within the vicinity of Plateau State High Court in Barkin Ladi local government area of the State and freed suspects taken for arraignment in the court.
