Rivers man who killed several women in hotels sentenced to death

Rivers state high court has sentenced Gracious David West to death by hanging for the murder of 11 women. David West was arrested in September 2019 in connection to a series of killings, most of which occurred in Port Harcourt, Rivers capital. The murders, which were said to have started around July 2019, involved young female victims discovered in hotel rooms with white clothes tied around their necks. EFCC grills Lagos speaker over corruption allegations

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun questioning Mr Mudashiru Obasa, speaker of Lagos state house of assembly, over corruption allegations against him. EFCC spokesman, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the development on Thursday. “He responded to an invite from the commission this morning,” he said. Cocaine-laden plane crashes after airborne pursuit

A light aircraft carrying almost half a tonne of cocaine crashed in central Mexico after a high-speed airborne chase with authorities, and two people aboard died, the defense ministry said on Wednesday. Armed robbers invade bank in Ekiti, make heavy cash haul

Armed robbers have bombarded a branch of WEMA bank, Iyin-Ekiti in Irepodun/Ifelodun local government area of Ekiti. Africa loses $90bn in illicit money flows annually, UN study says

Africa is losing nearly $89 billion a year in illicit financial flows such as tax evasion and theft, amounting to more than it receives in development aid, a UN study showed on Monday.
