Bandits kill 47 in coordinated attacks on Katsina communities

Armed bandits Saturday attacked communities in three local governments of Katsina State, killing 47 persons. Katsina State Police Command confirmed the early morning attacks and the casualty. The command’s spokesman, Gambo Isah, made this known in a statement made available to journalists on Sunday in Katsina. He said that the bandits carried out the attacks in Dutsinma, Danmusa and Safana local government areas at about 00:30 hours on April 18. Google blocking 18m coronavirus scam emails daily

Scammers are sending 18 million hoax emails about Covid-19 to Gmail users every day, according to Google. The tech giant says the pandemic has led to an explosion of phishing attacks in which criminals try to trick users into revealing personal data. Gunmen kill 9 persons, burn 33 houses in Plateau community

Unidentified gunmen attacked Hurra community of Irigwe Chiefdom in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau, killing nine persons and burning 33 houses. Mr Sunday Abdu, National President of Irigwe Development Association (IDA), said on Thursday that the incident occurred Tuesday night. Proceeds from N630m international face mask scam traced to bank account in Nigeria

International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) has said it uncovered a €1.5m (N630 million) face masks scam involving Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands with a portion of the money wired to Nigeria. Gunmen kidnap Bauchi gov’s elder brother

Mr Yaya Adamu, elder brother of Bauchi State Governor, Mr Bala Mohammed, has been kidnapped. He was kidnapped at 7.30 pm on Wednesday at Ungwan Jaki in Bauchi metropolis by unknown gunmen. This is coming about 72 hours after the governor went into self-isolation following his contact with a person that tested positive for coronavirus.
