Senate has received and adopted the report from its Security Summit. The summit, held from February 8 to 12 in Abuja, was organised by the National Assembly with the aim to proffer solutions to the growing rate of insecurity in the country. Former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria from 1975 to 1977, Mr Adamu Ciroma, is dead. He died at 83. Ciroma was buried at Gudu Cementary, Abuja, yesterday evening. Barely 24 hours after the House of Representatives passed a resolution backing the establishment of state police, Speaker, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, on Wednesday received a bill seeking to amend the 1999 Constitution to accommodate state police. Buhari gets new electoral act for assent

National Assembly has transmitted a new version of the amendment made to 2010 electoral act to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent. Police protest: IGP summoned to Aso Rock

Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, was on Monday at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja for a meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
