President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday told incoming ministers that all requests for meetings with him should pass through his chief of staff, Mr Abba Kyari. Mr Buhari said this in his closing remarks at a presidential retreat for ministers-designate in Abuja. “In terms of coordination, kindly ensure that all submissions for my attention or meeting requests be channelled through Chief of Staff, while all Federal Executive Council matters be coordinated through Secretary to the Government of the Federation,” Buhari said. Buhari appoints new heads of federal agencies

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved replacements for heads of Federal Government agencies recently appointed as ministers. A statement by the president’s spokesman, Mr Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Tuesday, said Mr Basheer Mohammed was appointed Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons. Mohammed replaces Sadiya Umar Farouk, a minister-designate from Zamfara. According to the statement, Chioma Ejikeme has been appointed Executive Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, replacing Sharon O. President Muhammadu Buhari has queried the chief executive of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mr Babatunde Fowler, over worsening tax collection since 2015. Sources within FIRS confirmed the development on Sunday after a letter querying Fowler’s low performance appeared on social media in the morning.
