Six persons have been arrested following a bloody clash between Ghanaian and Nigerian traders in Accra. Three persons, according to the police, were injured during the Monday morning fight at Kwame Nkrumah Circle. The fight follows the closure of shops belonging to some Nigerian traders. World Bank has said the number of Nigerians living in extreme poverty may increase by more than 30 million by 2030 and the country will be home to 25 per cent of the world’s destitute people if the government fails to revive economic growth and create jobs. Federal government says Nigeria Customs Service is now generating a daily revenue of N8 billion since the closure of land borders three months ago. Six inmates serving various prison terms at Ikoyi Correctional Center, Lagos, yesterday died after an electrical cable exploded. But Minister of Interior, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, confirmed the deaths of five inmates and seven injured inmates. Several other inmates, at the center, were also seriously wounded during the explosion which jolted both inmates and workers inside the center.
