Buhari signs 2020 Budget today

Eleven days after National Assembly passed the N10.594 trillion 2020 budget, President Muhammadu Buhari will today sign 2020 Appropriation Bill into law. The N10.59 trillion budget, which will be signed by the president at 3.30p.m., is N264 billion higher than the N10.33 trillion estimates presented by the president in October. It is made up of N4.84 trillion allocation for recurrent expenditure, N2.46 trillion for capital expenditure, N2.72 trillion for debt servicing, fiscal deficit of N2.28 trillion and deficit to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ratio of 1.52 per cent. University of Abuja has dismissed two of its professors over inappropriate relationships with some female students of the institution. A statement yesterday by the institution’s spokesman, Mr Habib Yakoob, identified the affected professors as Mr Adeniji Adedayo Abiodun of Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture and Mr Agaptus Buzo-Chibuzo Orji of Department of Science and Environmental Education, Faculty of Education. Senate has introduced a new bill that will take responsibility of road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance away from Federal Government. The legislation, if passed and signed into law by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), will place such responsibility in the hands of foreign and local investors. Violent protests erupt on streets of Beirut

Dozens were injured in clashes between protesters and security forces in central Beirut on Saturday, one of the most violent nights since anti-government demonstrations started in October. Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) thursday directed Turkish Airlines to suspend its operations into Nigeria, pending when it meets the conditions set for it.
