Soldiers shut Imo market, tell traders to stay away 'until Biafra is achieved'

Some soldiers on Tuesday stopped traders at the timber and building material market in Orlu, Imo state, from opening for business. A trader in the market who chose to remain anonymous confirmed the development to TheCable. “They prevented people from opening their sheds, mainly timber market and building material,” he said. Nigeria’s revenue-to-GDP ratio lowest in the world – World Bank

Nigeria’s revenue-to-Gross Domestic Product ratio, which fell to between five and six per cent last year, is the lowest in the world, the World Bank said on Monday. Igboho: After sitting which ended 11pm, court grants Yoruba Nation agitator access to medical care

Cour De’appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic, on Monday, granted embattled Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho access to medical care. This was after court sessions which lasted for more than eight hours. Kaduna suspends all schooling due to insecurity

Nnamdi Kanu’s trial adjourned till October as SSS failed to produce IPOB leader in court

State Security Service (SSS) failed to produce Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), for his scheduled trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday. The trial was stalled not just because of Kanu’s absence from court, but also because the judges of the court began their vacation on Monday, the trial judge, Binta Nyako, said. Federal Government has further extended the deadline for NIN-SIM data verification to October 31, 2021. FG projects N14.6trn to service debt in three years

Federal Government plans to spend a total sum of N14.6tn on debt servicing between 2022 and 2024, an analysis of official data have shown. Projections in the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper for 2022 to 2024 show that the government intends to spend N3.6tn on debt servicing in 2022, N4.9tn in 2023 and N6.1tn in the 2024 fiscal year, amounting to N14.7tn. The total projected expenditure for 2022 is N13.95tn, comprising N3.4tn for non-debt expenditure, N3.6tn for debt servicing and N3.61tn for the implementation of capital projects. Passengers, crew evacuated as Air Peace plane loses tyre at Ilorin airport

No fewer than sixty-six passengers escaped death on Friday as an aircraft in the fleet of Air Peace got its tyre burst shortly after landing at the Ilorin International Airport.
