Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, on Friday, ordered the posting of new Commissioners of Police to 13 state commands including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Baba said in a statement signed by the Force spokesman, Frank Mba, that their postings became imperative in order to stabilise current internal security in the country. Security forces killed at least 115 people in southeast Nigeria this year and arbitrarily arrested or tortured scores of others, in response to violence from separatists agitating for autonomy, Amnesty International said on Thursday.
