Embattled acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, yesterday joined President Muhammadu Buhari in observing juma’at service at the State House mosque. Those who also prayed with the president included the National Security Adviser, General Babagana Muguno (rtd); the Minister of Defence, General Mansur Dan-Ali (rtd) and the Director-General of the Department of State Security (DSS), MallamLawalDaura. Nigeria Police have announced the dismissal of six officers from the Force, over alleged misuse of firearms during the December 10, 2016 Legislative re-run election in Rivers State. A Nigerian militant group, which has claimed a wave of attacks on oil pipelines in the Niger Delta, said on Friday that it had asked its fighters to prepare to fight the "enemy" as authorities were not ready for dialogue. Nigerian airlines have told the federal government that there is no need to close the Abuja airport to conduct repairs on its runway. Chairman, Airline Operators of Nigeria, Noggie Meggison, said though his members would support any decision taken by the federal government, such closure as announced was unnecessary.
