Embattled acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, yesterday joined President Muhammadu Buhari in observing juma’at service at the State House mosque. Nigeria Police have announced the dismissal of six officers from the Force, over alleged misuse of firearms during the December 10, 2016 Legislative re-run election in Rivers State. Militants say readying fighters to hit 'enemy' in Niger Delta

A Nigerian militant group, which has claimed a wave of attacks on oil pipelines in the Niger Delta, said on Friday that it had asked its fighters to prepare to fight the "enemy" as authorities were not ready for dialogue. No need to shut Abuja airport for runway repair, airline operators tell FG

Nigerian airlines have told the federal government that there is no need to close the Abuja airport to conduct repairs on its runway. Chairman, Airline Operators of Nigeria, Noggie Meggison, said though his members would support any decision taken by the federal government, such closure as announced was unnecessary. FG resumes payments to former Niger Delta militants

The Federal Government has resumed payments of cash stipends to former militants agreed under a 2009 amnesty in the country's Niger Delta oil hub, a government official said on Thursday.
