Gunmen demand N50m ransom for 8 kidnapped members of RCCG

Redeemed Christian Church of God has declared prayers for the release of eight members of the church kidnapped in Kaduna on Friday. RCCG Head of Media and Public Relations, Olaitan Olubiyi, said the ministry was also working with security agencies for the safe return of the victims. DSS arrests 26 Bureau de Change operators for terrorism financing, money laundering

Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria (ABCON) says 26 members have been arrested by security operatives, over alleged unlawful foreign exchange (FX) transactions. Aminu Gwadabe, president of ABCON, disclosed this in a statement on Friday. On Wednesday, the association’s north-west chapter had demanded immediate release of the members who were arrested on March 9, 2021, by the Department of State Security Services (DSS). Professor jailed for election fraud in favour of serving minister

A High Court in Akwa-Ibom State, on Thursday, sentenced a Nigerian professor, Peter Ogban, to three years in prison, for election fraud. The court, which found Ogban guilty of fraudulent manipulation of election results, publishing and announcing of false results, also asked the professor to pay N100,000 fine. Gunmen demand N200m ransom for kidnapped FCT staff, 3 others

Armed men have raided residents of Kiyi town in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), abducting at least four persons. Bandits kill 13 in fresh Kaduna attacks

Thirteen people have been killed and seven others injured in a series of attacks in Zangon Kataf, Kauru and Chikun local government areas of Kaduna State. Wakili, 2 sons, charged with murder, kidnapping

An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ court sitting in Ibadan on Tuesday, ordered that the alleged notorious Ibarapa warlord, Abdullahi Wakili, 70, be remanded in a correctional facility. Unknown gunmen abducted staff of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and Polaris Bank at a quarry site in Ibadan, on Monday, the police have said.
