PDP retrenches half of national secretariat workers

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has sacked 50 percent of its national secretariat staff. The memo containing the list of affected staff was signed by PDP Deputy National Secretary, Mr Agbo Emmanuel and pasted on the party’s notice board at its National Secretariat yesterday in Abuja. Kano State House of Assembly has launched a fresh probe against Emir of Kano, Mr Muhammadu Sanusi ll, over alleged violation of “some Hausa norms, culture and traditions”. INEC proposes 34 amendments to Electoral Act

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is proposing 34 amendments to the Electoral Act, it was learnt Monday. Its Director of Legal Services, Oluwatoyin Babalola, said there are certain shortcomings in the electoral legal framework that needed to be addressed through legislation.
