Supreme Court adjourns hearing of Ihedioha’s review application till today

Supreme Court on Monday shifted hearing of the application seeking to restore Mr Emeka Ihedioha of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as Governor of Imo State till Tuesday (today). INEC proposes 34 amendments to Electoral Act

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is proposing 34 amendments to the Electoral Act, it was learnt Monday. Its Director of Legal Services, Oluwatoyin Babalola, said there are certain shortcomings in the electoral legal framework that needed to be addressed through legislation. Also, Lagos State Resident Electoral Commissioner Sam Olumekun said the delimitation of constituencies was long overdue in accordance with the 1999 Constitution. Supreme Court, on Tuesday, adjourned hearing of the fresh application that sacked governor of Imo State, Mr Emeka Ihedioha, filed to be restored back to the office, till March 2.
