US commends INEC, security agencies on Edo election

The United States has commended Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security operatives on the positive roles they played during Edo state governorship election that took place on September 19, 2020. Results from five of the 18 Local Governments in Edo State have been announced so far, with Governor Godwin Obaseki of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a clear lead over his closest contender, Mr Osagie Ize-Iyamu of All Progressives Congress. Edo guber: IGP orders vehicular restriction as INEC commence distribution of sensitive materials accross LGs

UK vows to place visa ban, seize assets of election riggers in Edo, Ondo

United Kingdom has threatened to ban anyone guilty of electoral violence ahead of the Ondo and Edo governorship elections. Supreme Court upholds Yahaya Bello’s election as Kogi gov

Supreme Court on Monday affirmed the election of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State. A seven-man panel of the court led by Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mr Tanko Muhammad, made this declaration in two judgments dismissing the separate appeals filed by Peoples Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Party.
