Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum says electronic transmission of election results will guarantee free and fair polls in the country. While the senate passed the electoral act amendment bill to empower Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to determine the electronic transmission of election results, the house of representatives adopted the use of technology “where practicable”. Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has the capacity to transmit results electronically, despite the poor conditions in remote areas across the country. It would be recalled that National Assembly blocked the transmission of election results through electoral means in clause 50(2) of the electoral act amendment bill. Ethiopia PM, Abiy Ahmed, wins delayed elections with landslide

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has won the country's delayed elections with an overwhelming majority, the election board said on Saturday. The board said Abiy's Prosperity Party won 410 out of 436 seats, giving him another five-year term in office.
