Zambian opposition leader Hichilema declared winner of presidential election

Opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema has defeated incumbent Edgar Lungu in Zambia’s presidential election, the electoral commission said on Monday when releasing the final results from 156 constituencies, barring one. APC chieftain asks court to stop party’s congresses, convention

Kalu Agu, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), has asked a federal capital territory (FCT) high court to stop the party from proceeding with its congresses scheduled for Saturday. Supreme Court affirms Akeredolu’s election

Supreme Court of Nigeria has dismissed the appeal filed by Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party, challenging the election of Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu. In the majority judgment, four of the justices of the apex court upheld the decision of the Court of Appeal and the Ondo State Governorship Election Petition.
