Killings: Catholic bishops ask Buhari to resign

Boko Haram attack in Maiduguri repelled, military says

Nigerian forces repelled an attack by Boko Haram militants in the northeast city of Maiduguri on Thursday, the military said in a statement, the second such clash in a month. Adebayo Adedeji, former UNECA chief, dies at 87

Pioneer Executive Director of Addis Ababa based United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and undersecretary general of UN, Mr Adebayo Adedeji, is dead. He died in Lagos at the age 87 after a protracted illness. He was born in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State on 21 December 1930. His death, in the late hours of Wednesday, was announced by a family member. Reps summon Buhari over worsening security situation

House of Representatives resolved yesterday to summon President Muhammadu Buhari to appear before it to tell lawmakers how he had been handling the nation’s security. Court nullifies National Assembly’s elections re-ordering bill

Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday nullified National Assembly’s Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill, 2018 which sought to provide the order in which the Independent National Electoral Commission must conduct the 2019 general elections. Delivering judgment in a suit filed by Accord Party to challenge the bill, Mr Ahmed Mohammed held that the bill was in clear breach of provisions of Paragraph 15(a) of the Third Schedule of 1999 Constitution which empowered INEC to organise and conduct elections. Govs, NNPC top officials in crucial meeting after aborted FAAC meeting

Governors of the 36 states of the federation, or their representatives, were on Wednesday locked in a crucial meeting with Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) top management to attempt to patch up the crisis that aborted Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting for March. FG approves search for herbal cure for malaria

Federal Government has approved that a department of traditional medicine be established in Ministry of Health to look for malaria cure in the forests.
