18 out of 23 LGAs in Benue under herdsmen’s attack - Ortom

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State said on Monday that only five of the 23 Local Government Areas of the state were free from attacks by herdsmen. Mr Ortom stated this during his first official interaction with journalists since he returned from his vacation from China two days ago. He regretted the continued onslaught against the state by killer-herdsmen and called for vigilance from the people. NAF takes delivery of two new helicopter gunships

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Monday took delivery of two Mi-35M helicopter gunships the federal government ordered from Russia. The Antonov aircraft, which brought the new Mi-35M helicopters, touched down on the runway at NAF Base Makurdi at exactly 12.20 p.m. Chief of Aircraft Engineering at NAF Headquarters, Mr Abdulganiyu Olabisi, received the new aircraft on behalf of Chief of Air Staff, Mr Sadique Abubakar. Auto crash claims 12 lives on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Twelve persons were confirmed dead while five others sustained injuries in an accident involving a Volvo truck and a Ford bus at Foursquare area on Lagos /Ibadan Expressway on Saturday.
