Nigerian migrants sue Italy for aiding Libyan coast guard

Nigerian migrants who survived a deadly sea crossing last year filed a lawsuit against Italy for violating their rights by supporting Libya's efforts to return them to North Africa, their lawyers said on Tuesday. National Agency for Food and Drug Administration & Control has shut Peace Standard Pharmaceutical Limited, Bioraj Pharmaceutical Limited and Emzor Pharmaceuticals Ind. Nigeria military rescue 1,000 Boko Haram hostages

More than 1,000 people held captive in northeastern Nigeria by the jihadi group Boko Haram have been rescued, Nigeria's military said Monday. The hostages, which consisted mainly of women and children, were rescued from four villages in Bama area of Borno State, military spokesman Mr Texas Chukwu said. Spain rescues Nigerians, other migrants crossing Mediterranean Sea

Spain's maritime rescue service said Sunday that it saved 476 migrants who were attempting the perilous crossing of the Mediterranean Sea from African shores. The migrants were pulled from 15 small boats on Friday and Saturday, officials said. FG spent N4.3tn to service debt in three years — Budget office

The Federal Government spent a total of N4.3tn to service the country’s debt obligations to local and foreign debtors between January 2015 and September 2017, figures obtained from the Budget Office on Friday showed. The figures are computed from the quarterly budget implementation report prepared by Budget Office. An analysis of the report by our correspondent showed that the sum of N1.06tn was used to service debt in 2015. The amount rose to N1.31tn in 2016 before hitting N1.54tn in 2017.
