Illegal Nigerian migrants travel at own risks - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday warned that Nigerians travelling out of the country illegally to search for greener pastures are doing so at their own risk. Buhari gave the warning during a joint press briefing with visiting German Chancellor, Ms Angela Merkel, at Presidential Villa, Abuja. US ends funding of UN agency for Palestinian refugees

United States is ending its decades of funding for the U.N. agency that helps Palestinian refugees, the State Department announced Friday, a week after slashing bilateral U.S. aid for projects in the West Bank and Gaza. The U.S. supplies nearly 30 percent of the total budget of the U.N. Relief and Works Agency, or UNRWA, and had been demanding reforms in the way it is run. NAFDAC plans 10-year limit on registration of imported drugs

National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) says it plans to place a 10-year limit on registration of imports on pharmaceuticals to encourage local production of drugs. Hajj 2018: Three Nigerian pilgrims die in road accident

An accident involving pilgrims to this year’s Hajj has claimed the lives of three Nigerian pilgrims. Head of Nigeria’s medical team, Mr Ibrahim Kana, said the accident occurred Friday morning along Madinah to Makkah highway. “We just received the news that the accident involving our pilgrims occurred at about 120 kilometers from Madinah to Makkah,” he said. FAAC: FG, States, LGs share N714.8bn

Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), Thursday shared N714.809 billion to the three tiers of government. Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, who presided over the meeting said that N597.975 billion came from earnings into the Federation Account, with the balance coming from Value Added Tax (VAT). Of the N597.975 billion, the federal government received N269.825 billion, states got N136.859 billion, while N105.512 billion was allocated to the Local Governments. The nine oil producing states received an additional N44.964 billion representing 13% derivation, N40.815 billion paid out as cost of collection to Nigeria Customs Service and Federal Inland revenue service (FIRS).…

25 hospitalised, as diarrhea hits Borno

Borno State Commissioner for Health, Haruna Mshelia, has said Acute Watery Diarrhoea, AWD, has hit Borno State with 1,068 cases in 10 Local Government areas of the state.Of the reported cases, he said, 25 patients were hospitalised at the Benisheikh Hospital and Dala and El-Miskin treatment centres.
