Paris Club refund: Govs angry over N16.67b secret payment to Osun

State governors across party lines are presently fuming over an alleged secret payment of N16.67 billion, said to be the last tranche of Paris Club refund payment to Osun state government. The state government was in December 2017 paid along other states by the federal government the third tranche of the refund, amounting to N6.3 billion. Shi’ites protest in Abuja as El- Zakzaky marks 1000 days in detention

Hundreds of Shi’ites rallied in Abuja Friday to demand release of their leader, Mr Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, who marked 1,000 days in detention Friday. The protest started from the Wuse Market to Federal Secretariat in Abuja. Three Inspectors have been sacked by Police authorities for raiding the Abuja home of elder statesman Edwin Clark. Police restate ban on SARS operatives from conducting stop and search raids

Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, on Wednesday repeated his warning to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to stop indiscriminate search of citizens.
