Counsel threatens to drag man who installed self as Oba in Oyo to court for contempt

Sudan pro-democracy groups call for civil disobedience after military clamp down

The umbrella group leading Sudan's pro-democracy movement has called for a nationwide campaign of civil disobedience, days after a bloody military crackdown left dozens dead. Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn from N25 billion fraud filed against Mr Danjuma Goje, former governor of state. The case, which has been on for close to eight years, has been handed over to the office of Attorney-General of the federation. In sharp rebuke of INEC, court orders issuance of certificate of return to Okorocha

An Abuja Division of Federal High Court has nullified the decision of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to refuse to present former Imo State governor, Mr Rochas Okorocha, with a certificate of return as senator-elect. African Union suspends Sudan over violence

African Union’s Peace and Security Council voted on Thursday to suspend Sudan from all AU activities until a civilian government has been formed. The council made the announcement after a meeting in Addis Ababa of member states of the pan-continental body.
