CAN re-elects Ayokunle as president

President of Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC), Mr Supo Ayokunle, has been re-elected president of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). The result was announced on Tuesday by Mr Matthew Kukah, Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, at Ecumenical Centre, Abuja. Ayokunle got 59 votes to defeat runner up, Mr Caleb Solomon-Ahima, president, Fellowship of Christian Churches in Nigeria (TEKAN), who got 44 votes. Ahima, according to CAN constitution, becomes vice president of the organisation. Ayokunle was born on January 25, 1957 and hails from Isheke, Oyo in Oyo State.
