FG to borrow $1.76bn for security spending - Minister

Federal government plans to borrow 722.53 billion naira ($1.76 billion) from domestic capital markets for additional security spending, Finance Minister Zainab Ahmed said on Wednesday. Judiciary workers call off strike

Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has called off its nationwide industrial action. The decision to call off the strike followed a meeting between JUSUN executives and National Judicial Council (NJC) led by Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Ibrahim Muhammad. Both parties agreed that the strike should be called off in the interest of the nation and to give room for the implementation of agreements JUSUN reached with the Federal Government. Polytechnic teachers suspend two months strike

Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) on Wednesday suspended its two-month-old nationwide strike. ASUP’s National Publicity Secretary, Abdullahi Yalwa, made the disclosure in a press statement on Wednesday in Abuja. He said that the suspended would take effect from Thursday (June 10).
