FG, Dangote, others, sign N4.3b pact to revamp Apapa/Wharf road

Signs that succour is on the way for residents, motorists and business concerns along Apapa/Wharf road emerged yesterday, when the Federal Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) towards reconstruction of Apapa/Wharf road. Firms involved in the MoU include, AG. Dangote, a construction company based in Brazil, which will provide technical expertise; Flour Mills of Nigeria and the Nigerian Ports Authority. Three feared killed as violence erupts in Taraba communities

Fresh communal clash has broken out in Gembu, Nguroje and other parts of Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State. The violence is suspected to be between the Kakas and Fulani ethnic groups. Locals say that the crisis erupted Sunday morning after some youth took to the streets destroying property and smashing vehicles. “As I am talking to you, violence has erupted, they are attacking us, and some were killed,” a resident said asking to remain anonymous for security reasons. US Navy says bodies of sailors found on ship

The Latest on a U.S. Navy ship collision (all times local): 11:15 a.m. The U.S. Navy says the bodies of sailors who went missing in the collision between the USS Fitzgerald and a container ship have been found aboard the stricken destroyer. The Navy says in a statement that searchers had gained access to the spaces that were damaged during the collision. A total of seven sailors had been missing since Saturday's crash off Japan's coast. N-Power: FG to recruit another 300,000 youths

The Federal Government is set to recruit 300,000 youths in the second batch of its N-Power social intervention and job creation programme. Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed, disclosed this on Friday in Isanlu-Isin community near Omu-Aran town in Kwara State. Mohammed said the Federal Government would “reopen the N-POWER portal by next week to commence the process for the recruitment”.
