Female senior judge kidnapped as gunmen kill her police orderly

Mrs Chioma Nwosu, a judge at Benin Division of Court of Appeal, was kidnapped on Wednesday. A police officer was killed during the incident along Benin-Agbor Highway, police said. The judge was abducted on Wednesday morning while heading out for an assignment. Edo State police commissioner Mr Mohammed Danmallam, said rescue efforts had commenced for the senior judge and a manhunt launched for the attackers. Kidnapped Federal High Court judge regains freedom

After spending four days in captivity of gunmen with his driver, Mr Abdul Dogo, a judge of the Federal High Court 2, Akure, has regained his freedom. Dogo, sources said, was released around 2.00am yesterday. However, it was not certain whether relatives of the jurist paid any ransom before his release. After collecting N13.6 million in two tranches, unknown gunmen yesterday released six female students and two staff of Engravers College, Kakau Daji, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State kidnapped about 24 days ago. A judge of Federal High Court, Akure, Ondo State, Mr Abdul Dogo, was kidnapped on Tuesday evening by gunmen. Driver arrested after 39 found dead in truck near London

British police found the bodies of 39 people inside a truck at an industrial estate near London on Wednesday and said they had arrested the driver on suspicion of murder. Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday charged two Britons in Abuja for alleged money laundering in connection with an ill-fated gas deal that has left the government facing a disputed bill of more than $9 billion. Ms Ijeoma Ojukwu of Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday reviewed the bail conditions earlier granted to publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr Omoyele Sowore. Court orders interim forfeiture of Saraki’s property

Lagos Division of Federal High Court on Monday has ordered the temporary forfeiture of two properties located in Ikoyi area of Lagos State and belonging to the immediate past senate president, Mr Bukola Saraki, to Federal Government. Police rescue senior officer colleague kidnapped along Jos road

Police have rescued Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr Musa Rabo, who was abducted along Barde-Jos road by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Saturday.
